Patricia Kirkpatrick - Mathematics
Mrs. Kirkpatrick earned her Master’s degree in Counseling and graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico in 1994. She began her career as a counselor for adolescents and their families in Fort Myers, where she served for three years before relocating to Colorado. During her time in Colorado, she attended Colorado State University to become a licensed daycare director, allowing her to remain close to her children during their early years. She went on to open a new KinderCare facility serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. After several years, she returned to Cape Coral to begin her teaching career.
Over the past 26 years, Mrs. Kirkpatrick has taught students from kindergarten through 12th grade, discovering her greatest joy in teaching high school mathematics for the last 15 years.
Since joining the FSWC faculty in 2017, she has taught Algebra 1, Financial Algebra, Math for College Readiness, Algebra 2 Honors, Peer Counseling, and Honors Statistics and Probability. She embraces the flipped classroom model, finding it highly engaging and effective for high school learners. This approach allows students to preview lessons and take notes at home, then participate in math games, collaborative practice, and meaningful discussions in class.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick encourages students to learn from mistakes, think analytically, and strive for excellence each day. She is passionate about teaching mathematics and is committed to creating a supportive environment where all students can reach their academic potential.
Her goal is to help students build not only strong mathematical skills, but also effective communication, a solid work ethic, teamwork abilities, and increased neuroplasticity.
