Exploring various culture groups through cooperative learning activities
In the Neighborhood stimulation, students are involved in a multicultural neighborhood where families from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds unite in their respect for each other and the desire to create a pluralistic neighborhood. Through educating one another about their various cultures, they will create an environment free of prejudice and discrimination.
By participating in this stimulation, students will develop a better understanding of the many cultures represented by various American ethnic groups and, at the same time, enhance your own literary and research skills.
This multi-week project culminated in a Neighborhood Street Festival - during the festival families shared food, music, crafts, games, and displayed the projects developed during the project.
Each ethnic group set up booths at the “street fair” to share food, music, crafts, and other items
Sharing dance and other aspects of a groups culture is a highlight of the fair
